When we first moved to our place in the woods, we happened to build our cabin in the middle of a family of owls. They never left, and over the years we’ve gotten used to each other. Every night (and sometimes in the daytime) they hoot back and forth across the creek. They are a welcome reminder that we are living in their world, not the other way around.
We sure are living in a crazy world. But watching nature is good for my soul. I wish everyone could see this.

The baby turkeys have finally hatched. They’re cute and fuzzy right now. In a few weeks they will look like pterodactyls.

Big thanks to Dickson Electric for working nonstop sacrificing time away from their own families, running trucks and chainsaws around the clock clearing trees and storm wreckage to get power turned back on for the thousands without it here in Tennessee. They are real heroes! After four days running the generator we got power a couple hours ago. Amazing how much I took for granted. Thanks for working hard, DES! My wife is baking some cookies for y’all...
Ahhh, the glow of a full moon through the sycamores, the crackle of oak logs in the fireplace, the gurgling of a country creek, the sweet bite of a good Cinco De Mayo margarita... oh, and of course , the hum of the Honda generator that keeps our freezer from thawing out until the power comes back on, haha! Grateful we know how to rough it in style!
I was going to make a block to put knives in, but Lizzie thought a magnetic knife holder would be better. As always she was right. But then I had to find magnets (found these at Harbor Freight, 2 magnetic tool holding strips, $5), and then I had to figure out how to attach to a wall with tile on it. The wrought iron is forged to hook behind the tile, since I’m not brave enough to drill through tile. Held together with epoxy and copper rivets.

Just like to let anyone know who might have heard this “album” or downloaded it, it was not released by me. These demos (some are 20 years old, and some are not even me singing) were released without my knowledge or permission and have since been taken down. Thanks for those of you who let me know about this issue. When I do release new (legitimate) music, I will definitely let everyone know. Thanks!
